Counseling Services
As counselors, we have a comprehensive school counseling program to ensure student success. There are four components to the program:
Guidance-We present classroom lessons in order to develop the students’ self-awareness, and encourage the application of life skills. Some of the topics for these lessons include bullying, harassment, safety, friendship, goal setting, diversity, and drug/alcohol awareness.
Responsive Services- We work to meet the immediate needs of students and their families. As counselors, we address those concerns and help remove barriers to learning through individual or small group counseling. We can also provide referrals to outside agencies to assistance families with shelter, clothing, food, and other needs.
Individual Planning-We help students plan for their future by assisting them in discovering their strengths, setting goals and self-monitoring. We also help them monitor, understand, and control their own behavior, skills, and development. We work with students on social skills acquisition, college/career awareness, and personal relationships.

System Support- We support the school, staff, parents, and the community by providing parent education, consultation, staff development, community outreach, public relations, as well as professional growth and development. We are able to help our students through collaboration with those who have a vested interest in their success.
